Lazy Mom Tuna Pasta

We try to cook fresh for A. everyday, and we succeed in that most of the time. With the help of some great baby cooking books – my favorite being Jenny Carenco’s Baby Gourmet – especially during the first months where you wonder by everything “can she eat this?”.

For traveling, visits to family, or just crazy night we rely on organic baby food – my favorite brand being HIPP. Don’t be surprised if she eats it much faster than your with love prepared meal.

Or, I make a quick pasta. Here’s a lazy mom recipe with items we usually always have in our cupboard.

Lazy Mom Pasta:

  • pasta
  • canned tuna (good quality)
  • canned chopped tomatoes (good quality)
  • frozen peas
  • garlic
  • onion
  • cinnamon (small dash)
  • Parmesan cheese

In a pan heat some olive oil – add the onions chopped – fry for a couple of minutes, add garlic chopped, cinnamon, tomatoes (press the tomatoes with a fork so the juice gets out), peas and tuna. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. Cook the pasta according to the instructions.  A. loves parmesan, so serve with it!

Hipp was also a favourite here, but since our last trip to Stockholm L. decided it was time to skip the baby food cans – refused at Max hamburger restaurant… we had to feed her fries and bits of hamburger and bread! I just had to “eat up” my earlier (judging) views on parents feeding their toddlers hamburger…. sometimes you just have no choice!
